They are for books- I’ll tell you the time era. Please no rude comments.
Oh, and do you like the main ideas of the books?
Rosalie McCar (yes I know- Twilight, but I don’t care) Time Era- 1910-1920
Long blonde hair and blue eyes. She is 5′4″; average height but seems more petite then she is. She comes from a large family; four sisters, five brothers. Her father is a car dealer and her mother is a seamstress. The family isn’t “short” on money, but they aren’t super wealthy. She is the love interest of Pierre Dupree, a French man who comes from Paris to New York to learn English and become an apprentice of a blacksmith. Pierre is 21, and Rosalie is 17.
Nick Dermon- Time era is 1950’s
Nick is a awkward, 16 year old boy with a dream of becoming a dancer. He meets fellow student Abby Welsh, and soon falls in love with her. Abby, the daughter of a rich man, finds herself falling for Nick as well, and her dream is to become a waitress and dancer. When Nick tries out for a dance competition and he makes it, he has one choice- to go to dance in Chicago and leave Abby, or to stay and let his dream fade.
Last one!
Livy Cotton- Time era is the present
Livy is a fourteen year old soccer player, caught up in the act of being a great midfielder. But when her family moves across the country to California, her dream of making State in Missouri with her team, the Lightning Bolts, her dream is demolished. But soon in California, she finds herself with even a better team, the California Sharks but they make her be goalie; a position she’s never played before. Between boys, soccer, and friends, her life is just beginning.
Thank you so much!

Q: No insurance in chicago Ill. what am i looking at with regards to fines?
Ok so i got pulled over yesterday and just found out today my dealer kinda screwed me over by not insuring my car when i was told i was insured! Ive been paying an extra 167 dollars a month to my dealer extra plus my car note and i was told it was for insurance through a company they deal with! now when i called them to get my insurance since i got pulled over and i didnt have proof of the insurance and now the dealer is saying it wasnt insurance but something to protect their investment since i didnt show them proof of insurance??? so basically they lied to me and ive been paying an extra 167 for nothing these past couple of months i just called another insurance company and now paying 100 dollars a month to be insured with them! NOW my question and problem is here i got the ticket yesterday the 20th of april and im now insured the 21st of april is this gonna hurt me in anyway since i wasnt techically insured the day i was pulled over??? if i bring paper work that i was paying to the dealer 167 dollars being told it was isurance? or am i just F#CK3D??? thanks
A: You can compare how the insurance quotes would change, for example here – autoinsurance.bebto.com
Q: questions about the smart car “pure”?(the cheapest one)Easy 10!!?
1.are the standard safety requirements in it(are there a lot of airbags)?and what else those it have extra to make it safe?
2.how many miles are on the warranty(i am 15 so is the warranty for miles good) and how many miles per gallon?
3.what is the top speed?
4.is it both electrical and gas?
5.how much is it to put a a/c and fm radio in it?i know its like 11,000 dollars or something like that.
6.is there a dealer ship in chicago?
7.is there a lot of space in the trunk of it?that can carry grocery bags and possibly a table or something?
plz no links..and thank u!!! to whoever helps me!!!!!!!!
A: Well the smart car is Petrol electric, has 6 air bags and the car is a safety shell designed to keep the passengers safe with the vehicle taking all the damage. At this stage its top speed is governed buy the petrol engine but rest assured it will do 70 mph.It does in excess of 70 mpg and it recharges its Battery using braking technology so you don’t need to plug it in. At speeds lower than 30 mph its on electric power. being a hybrid vehicle there isn’t much space in the trunk similar to a BMW 32.0d. The car comes with FM radio CD, MP3 player and Air con as standard.
Q: Can I back out from a signed car buyer’s order?
We are trying to buy a new car and signed the buyer’s order, which I am going to give to the bank that I am going to finance the payment. However, now, after cool down from the moment, we decided that car may not be the best fit and the price we agreed with the dealer may not be the best. Since I have sent the document to the bank to issue the check, can I still back out of the transaction without any legal attachment? I am in Chicago. And, I haven’t take possession of the car. They buyer’s order is the Only document that we signed with price of the new car and the trade in. Thanks
I make a mistake in my question. I have not sent the buyer’s order to the lender yet. Does that help me?
A: You may have an out IF you contact your lender and tell them you do not want the vehicle. If they do not finance the deal, there is no deal.
Also, there is no “3-day cooling-off” period in vehicle sales. Not for vehicles purchased at a dealer or ones purchased privately. Only CA has this policy, and you have to purchase that right to do so at point-of-sale.
**EDIT — Usually, the dealer sends the buyer’s order to the lender. You probably just have a copy. I would be on the phone tomorrow morning (early, or go in person) to the finance office at the dealer and make sure they haven’t done so yet, so that you can back out.
Q: Car Repair Advice?
In Nov I had the catalytic converters replaced on my 98 Buick. The service engine light came on in Feb. I took it to the dealer. They said the converters need to be replaced (no prob, I have the warranty for them). They also said that the Fuel Pressure Regulator and the Lower Intake are leaking. The FPR would cost $264 to fix, and the intake would be $1,150. They charge $150/hour just for labor, and say the lower intake will take 6 hours.
Is this a bunch of BS? How soon do I need to get this stuff fixed? The local place I’ve had stuff done before doesn’t do that kind of stuff, so I don’t know how much it would be at a mechanic that isn’t the dealer. Any ideas on what parts and labor should be? (I’m in Chicago)
Thanks very much in advance.
A: First thing, stop going to a dealer, their parts are INSANE on prices, and you can get parts that are just as good or better at most part stores. $150 an hour for labor is crazy, I mean just absolutly crazy. Forget that nonsense about how a dealership is familiar with ONLY GM vehicles and they are therefore better. A good mechanic is just as familiar with your vehicle as a dealership, in some cases, alot more expirenced. Bear in mind I said a GOOD mechanic, be careful where you take your vehicle, before handing your vehicle over to a shop, look for ASE certification, and ask around to see who has had any good/bad expirences with that shop. Also check www.bbb.org to look for a list of shops with complaints against them in your area.
I, as well, would suggest minimal time dely on having the repairs checked out, but do not hand the vehicle over to a shop and ask them to do the work, tell them what the dealership has told you, and ask them to check it for themselfs. Most shops will charge a diagnosis fee of about $50, and this fee is usually waved if you have the work done there.
Good Luck with that, and like i said, stop using the dealership, its alot of wasted money for exactly what you could get at a good mechaninc elesewhere.
Q: Can some help?
I bought a car in 02/05 in chicago with a 40 per cent loan from a credit unioun. They agreed with a dealer the he was going to post the title of the car to them. Ipaid the credit unioun for registering my vehichle which they never did. In 07/05 I recieved a statement from the bank with a $1000.00 in my account, I went to them to find out why, They told me that the dealer didn’t send the title so they couldn’t register the vehicle. They asked me for my paper work from the dealer wihich I gave to them. Recieving the next bank statement the $1000.00 was taken off my account which made me feel that everything is been taken care of. Now the liscense plate given to me by the credit unioun can not be renewed. The car has been packed since 02 this year. And now they are calling saying that their anthony adviced them to return the $1000.00 and take thier liscense plate. What can we do in this case? Get a lawyer? And weare paying them every month even more that the supposed amount.
A: You will be money ahead to hire a lawyer to look into this. Sounds like the dealer has bailed out because he NEVER had the title to your car. This could be a real mess and the services of a lawyer will be needed to research and find the original title.
Q: 1996 20k Chrysler NYorker trans problem?
So my husband finds a 95 Chrysler New Yorker in Pittsburg that he buys from a dealer. This is a posh car with all the fun gadgets that a guy or gal could possible desire including climate control, leather seats, trip computer yada yada. His interest was peaked by the fine condition of the body, interior, a great price and 22k original miles. I know what you’re thinking, not with transmission problems baby! Well we did the CarFax, saw all the dealer records looked this beauty over with a fine tooth comb and it looked and drove great.
He drove it to Milwaukee, through Chicago then back to Bloomington Indiana where we live. In southern Illinois it started running a little rough at slower speeds after a refill so he thought he got a bad tank of gas and took it in to get a tune-up when he got home.
Next day the transmission fails suddenly when the car gets hot! We’ll be driving along after 5 to 10 miles and all the forward gears just stop engaging. The reverse still works, thank goodness, so we can get out of traffic but nothing going forward. If we let it cool for an hour it drives like a dream until bang nothing.
Now here’s the really weird part, when this happens we always find a little puddle of green radiator fluid under the front of the car. We took it to the Chrysler dealer in town and they repaired a trans. line and said all fixed. Nope! Happened again. Now they want to replace a valve for another 600 on top of the 3 something already spent for fixing drip.
So it’s back to the dealer but my husband and I are disagreeing about this, I think it’s something electrical, wire, pump, fuse, pressure/heat thing that’s not allowing coolant to circulate in the transmission cooler. He seems confidant with taking it to assorted people and letting them replace mechanical items. The latest theory is a clogged filter in the transmission from sediment in the pan (Precision Transmission), my opinion is “that’s malarkey!” not with 20k!
Aggravated in Indiana
A: There is no valve which stop trans fluid flowing to the cooler or trans. I suspect the dealer wants to replace the valve body in the trans. At 22k this is a car which has been sitting for a long time so the valves which make the trans shift may be getting stuck when the trans fluid get up to operating temperature. They should change the trans fluid and filter, plus flush the trans and torque converter. The will allow the trans to have totally new fluid. Good luck, you still probably got a good buy.
Q: Does anyone else get tired of the ignorance of people that live in the suburbs?
My family pulled me away from Chicago and into the Chicago suburbs when I was in middle school. We moved into a small old house that was surrounded by all these huge homes that had 2 and 3 car garages that were the size of our home. I was constantly made fun of because I was not able to wear the abercrombie and fitch clothing and other brands such as this. And the fact that my family had to shop and buy the cheaper brands of cereals and what not. By the time I graduated High school I was so fed up that I went to a school near St. Louis. There I met a lot of decent people. I made several friends that were from the East St. Louis area. Nicest people that I have ever known. Well I just graduated from college and invited them up to a party by me. The few friends that I had in high school were petrified of this guys (mainly I think because they were big and black) Then my mom gets a phone call asking if she knew her son was hanging around black drug dealers and gangsters from East
St. Louis. Now what would give this women the impression that my friends were drug dealers and gangsters? They were overly polite to these A@@holes and they just could not get over the fact that my friends were black and not rich. Then some of my high school class mates started asking me questions like if I have ever seen them jump or stab anybody before and a bunch of ignorant questions like these. Then they were like why are you hanging around these N’s for when you have us? I replied because they are my real friends and they dont laugh when I cant afford a 35,000$ car. And I basically told them all to piss off I know who my true friends are.
Yes I know I am generalizing about everyone from the suburbs being ignorant but most of the people that I have run into while living here have matched the stero type perfectly. Anyone else see the same thing?
A: sorry, i’ve lived in the DC suburbs and its nowhere near the same experience b/c not everyone there is rich and it’s very diverse racially. but sorry that you’ve met such crappy people.
Q: 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee clutch fan not running?
The car only starts to get hot after being in idle a long time and i took it to the dealer and they wanted to charge me 65$ for a diagnostic check of it which anytime i have ever gone somewhere in Chicago they never charge for.. They said its not the relay because no power is going to the fan… what else could it be
Also im going to be driving home this coming weekend if the fan isn’t running but im driving down the interstate it should keep the engine cool enough during the drive with the natural airflow alone right?? the only time its ever gotten hot was after being parked for 6-7 min in a drive through..
THanks
Quick addition.. Im going to be pulling a uhall trailer behind my car will that make more of a difference..???
A: Driving down the interstate youll be fine, but if you have to putt around low speed surface streets at low speeds or if you end up idling for a long bit of time, I’d strongly suggest getting it fixed, it sounds like it very well could be the fan clutch, although these grand cherokees (both the 6 and 8 cylinder models) are equipped with a fan clutch and also an electronic fan. Either one can cause an overheating at idle.
What the fan clutch does is it couples that big fan and the crankshaft together, each end has its own bearing, but inside it is a series of temperature sensitive plates, and as those plates heat up, they push against eachother one by one, causing the fan to move faster and faster as it gets warmer. An easy way to check this, is when the car is warm, turn it off, and try to spin the fan. If it spins freely, its bad, if it gives you a good amount of resistance, chances are its doin its job.
Im confused on why they said “its not the relay because no power is going to the fan.” The relay takes a low amperage circuit (like the one on the fan switch) and switches on the power of a large amperage circuit (like the fan) without crossing the wires and blowing fuses. So if there is no power to the fans, it very well could be the relay, but it could also be the fan switch. it could be a bad wire even.
I would say to check the fan clutch, and if it spins freely, go back to that dealership, tell them you want the fan clutch replaced, if they tell you they need to do the diagnosis and want to charge you for it, tell them you want to just have that fan clutch replaced, and you will take the risk of it not fixing the problem (since you know what the problem is)
If the fan is good though, get the diagnosis done, checking the electronics of a fan circuit is not so easy.
Q: jaguar x-type tune up cost?
Hi! Tomorrow I gonna get a 2003 Jaguar X-Type with 89k miles the car looks very well and clean but I’m looking to know the cost of maintenance for this car such as complete tune up and some extra maintenance.
I can get the complete tune up kit for $85
1 OIL FILTER -Mann- XR8 17215
1 AIR FILTER- OP PARTS -12826-002TA
1 FUEL FILTER- Mann -C2S-020906PT
6 Spark Plugs Regular Resistor- Denso
I live in Chicago if you know a dealer o mechanic with a good price
Thanks!!!
A: Um…that’s nowhere near a complete tune up/fluid change kit…doesn’t even include the 35 bucks in synthetic oil you’re going to need.
Just an fyi for the future (because you’ve obviously bought this car already). If you bring your own parts mechanics both 1)charge you more for labor and 2)don’t warrant their work. Potentially fatal when it comes to Jaguars and Range Rovers (especially the 2nd one). In chicago I’d assume at least 2 hours of labor probably booked at 3 which will be around 250-300 bucks for labor and it won’t even be a full fluid refresh. No mention of replacing coolant, no mention of replacing transmission fluid, no mention of replacing brake fluid…
